NAPLES – Charlie Brown – the lovable loser often called “Blockhead” by his friend Lucy in the famed weekly newspaper comic strip “Peanuts” – will take center stage with his devoted gang of pals and an unforgettable dog.

The Lake Region Community Theatre will present the musical “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” Jan. 25, 26, and 27 at Lake Region Community Theatre at Lake Region High School Performing Arts Center, Route 302.

Featured characters, created by cartoonist Charles M. Schultz in the early 1950s, will include Lucy, a crabby, bossy girl who sets up an advice booth; Linus, a friend and philosopher in constant need of his security blanket; Schroeder, a gifted pianist who loves classical music and plays catcher on Charlie Brown’s baseball team; Sally, Charlie Brown’s baby sister who needs constant help with her homework and often gets on her brother’s nerves; and, of course, Snoopy, the beloved beagle who often prompts Charlie Brown to ask: “Why can’t I have a normal dog like everyone else?”

Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10. All seats are general admission.
