Rumford – Juliette S. Blake, 86, of Crescent Avenue died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 14, at her residence.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1920, in Auburn, a daughter of Peter and Bernadette (Pelletier) Serafin.

She was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School

She was employed for many years with Oxford Paper Co.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are two sisters, Peggy Russell of Rumford and Gertrude Downs of Rumford; two brothers, Francis Serafin of Brewer and Robert Serafin of Missouri; nephews, Andy Russell, and wife, Kim, of Rumford and Wayne Russell, and wife, Lori, of Carrabassett Valley; a niece, Selena MacDonald, and husband, Rodney, of Atkinson, N.H.; grandnieces, Taylor, Kalee, Ashley and Madison; and a grandnephew, Kevin.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Herbert Blake in 1987; and a brother, Elmo Serafin.
