LEWISTON – The January exhibit at the Central Maine Medical Center’s Rotating Art Gallery features the most recent works of young artists ranging in age from 6 to 18.

The display is of the Lewiston Housing Authority-sponsored Youth Enrichment Program art classes for resident children. Works include scratchboard and prisma color pencils.

Teacher Sissi Ventrone strives to nurture each student’s innate talent and uses an individualized teaching method to encourage each child’s creative spark and sense of accomplishment by setting and achieving their own set of goals.

Her art curriculum includes basic drawing, the concept of perspective, principles of composition and the application of color theory. Exhibiting their work is a vital component of the students’ art education.

For more information about the exhibit, contact Ventrone at 782-3429.
