LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education is accepting registrations for those who enjoy making crafts. Along with traditional offerings of knitting, crocheting, rug braiding and quilting, there are a number of new programs available.

“Beautiful Berry Basket” and “Creating a Sturdy Market Basket” will teach how to make functional reed woven baskets. After a few hours, participants will leave class with a completed project. Both classes will be held Saturday, March 24.

The braided wool basket class will allow those who enjoy rug braiding to create a new item for home or to give as a gift. The class will be held Saturday, March 24.

Those who enjoy sculpting might like “A Day To Play With Clay.” The one-day program will introduce participants to polymer oven-bake clay. The class is designed so that they will be able to take finished items home at the end of class. It will also be held Saturday, March 24.

Dried wreathmaking, scheduled for Thursday, March 8, and tropical floral arranging on Tuesday, April 3, will give participants a chance to work with a professional florist to create floral arrangements.

“Join the Chain Gang I” is a two-week program set to begin Tuesday, Feb. 6. “Join the Chain Gang II” will be held Tuesdays, March 6 and 13. The classes will teach the basics of chainmaille jewelry-making while creating copper bracelets.
