WISCASSET – Shannon Daley and Megan Russell combined for 35 points as Dirigo cruised to a 62-33 win over Wiscasset in MVC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

Daley had 18 points while Russell had 17 and five steals and five assists.

The Cougars also got seven points from Abby Fenstermacher and six from Katie Hutchinson.

Livermore Falls 49, Boothbay 47

BOOTHBAY – Caryn Howell scored 24 points to lead Livermore Falls to a 49-47 come-from-behind victory Saturday in MVC girls’ basketball.

The Andies (7-4) were down 42-35 late in the ballgame but rallied as Howell produced 11 points in the final quarter. Rachel Ventrella added eight for the Andies, while Missi O’Connor contributed seven.

Boothbay (4-7) got 13 from Brittney Markowski, while Ali Hartley and Joyce Chagan added 13 and 12 respectively.

Georges Valley 39, Mountain Valley 32

RUMFORD – Georges Valley built a 12-point cushion through three quarters and coasted to a 39-32 triumph over Mountain Valley in girls’ basketball.

Sam Buchanon had 10 points and Ashley Geel added nine for the Bucs (5-7). Tanya Martin led Mountain valley (4-8) with 11 points.

Hyde 50, Hebron 18

HEBRON – Hyde limited Hebron to five field goals Saturday and pulled away for a 50-18 girls’ basketball victory.

Mahalia Gauld and Stephanie Urzua scored 12 points each for Hyde. Six of Kainani Stevens’ team-high eight points for Hebron came from the foul line.

Greely 59, Poland 38

POLAND – Sophia Zrioka scored a team-high 14 points to pace Greely to a 59-38 victory over Poland in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Rangers (9-3) executed some hot shooting in the middle frames as Kristen Biskup tallied 13 points and Megan McDevitt another 12 points.

Junior guard Jen Dionne led the charge for the Knights (4-6) with three field goals and five free throws for 11 points in the loss.

Lake Region 65, Freeport 33

NAPLES – Freshman guard Christina Ricci drained 11 points as Lake Region sailed to a 65-33 win over Freeport in WMC girls’ basketball action Saturday.

The Lakers (11-1) engaged in a balanced attack as 13 of 14 players participated in the scoring. Ricci notched eight rebounds to go along with her 11 points.

Sarah Murry paced the Falcons (2-9) with 10 points.
