RUMFORD – Harriette V. Estes, 86, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Rumford Hospital. She was a resident of Whitman Street in Mexico.

She was born in Rumford, on Nov. 22, 1920, a daughter of Wilson and Elizabeth (Turner) Brown. She was a graduate of Mexico High School. She worked as a nurse’s aid at the Rumford Hospital for 15 years.

She was a member of the Mexico Mother’s Club. She spent all of her adult summers at her camp at Worthley Pond.

She was married to the late Leon Estes who died Jan. 5, 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Skip Estes of Auburn and Gary Estes of Rumford; two grandchildren, Kelly Tidswell, and her husband, Ryan of Lincoln and Kevin Estes, and his wife, Jocelyn, of Gorham; two great-grandchildren, Deegan and Brayden Tidswell of Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Karen Estes; and her favorite dogs, Zoe and Scooter
