NORTH YARMOUTH – Andy Allen had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead St. Dom’s to a 47-41 victory over North Yarmouth Academy Tuesday in a boys’ basketball.

Allen scored 15 of his 21 points to carry St. Dom’s in the second half. Billy Colasante chipped in with seven points for the Saints (10-3).

Andrew Gendron and Pak Lul each had 12 points a piece for NYA (6-8), while Banak Thaiwat rounded out the offensive effort with 10 points.

Poland 42, G-NG 40

POLAND – Tyler Merchant registered a game-high 17 points and four assists to give Poland a 42-40 edge over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC boys’ basketball Tuesday.

Poland (5-7) held an eight-point lead with three minutes to go, but a strong pressure defense by G-NG (3-10) closed the gap to just two before the buzzer. Mimi Knowles contributed 13 points for the Knights.

Evan Kenney led the Patriots with 11 points. Josh Levasseur added seven points and 12 rebounds.

Hall-Dale 46, Lisbon 41

LISBON FALLS – Lisbon led Hall-Dale with a quarter to play Tuesday night, but foul trouble bit the Greyhounds as they fell shy of their first MVC boys’ basketball win of the season, losing 46-41.

Tyler Cummings scored 10 points for the Bulldogs (6-7), who overcame a 35-34 deficit in the final period. Luke Wheelock added nine points and James Henderson had eight. Tim Roy topped the Greyhounds (0-12) with 10 points. Steve Michaud and Zack Moan each notched nine.

Monmouth 59, Carrabec 42

NORTH ANSON – Tyler Somerville had a solid performance, pouring in 25 points, to lead Monmouth to a 59-42 win over Carrabec in MVC boys’ hoop.

Monmouth went on a 20-8 run in the third quarter to break the contest wide open. Dylan Reny added 10 points for the Mustangs (5-8).

Jake Goodwin scored 12 points, while Nick Manzer tallied 10 for the Cobras (1-11).

Brunswick 63, Lewiston 56

LEWISTON – Brunswick outscored Lewiston 23-17 in the fourth quarter to sew up a 63-56 KVAC boys’ basketball victory Tuesday night.

Travis O’Dell poured in 23 points for Brunswick (7-5). Corey Underwood added 13, combining with O’Dell for three 3-pointers. Jarrid Palmer led all scorers with 24 points to spark the Blue Devils (3-10). Abdinassir Abdi canned nine and Mason Giroux chalked up eight.

Dirigo 70, Mt. Abram 17

SALEM – Josh Daley poured in 20 points Tuesday evening to propel MVC powerhouse Dirigo to a 70-17 rout over Mt. Abram in boys’ basketball.

Mike Holmquist chipped in for the undefeated Cougars (12-0) with 14 points, while Thomas Knight added 11.

Dirigo jumped out to a 18-6 lead in the first quarter and was never challenged.

The Roadrunners (3-9) were paced by Corey Tripp with four points, while Noah Tranten added three.

Maranacook 71, Winslow 42

WINSLOW – Ryan Martin netted a game-high 21 points and made four steals to lead Maranacook to a 71-42 victory over Winslow in a KVAC boys’ matchup.

Will Bardaglio chipped in for the Black Bears (12-1) with 18 points, the only other player in double digits.

The Black Raiders (7-7) were paced by Adam Puiia with a 15-point performance. Winslow stayed dead even at 15-15 in the first quarter, then Maranacook went on a 22-14 run in the second frame to pull away for good.

Valley 46, Rangeley 41

RANGELEY – Rangeley cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two points with three minutes left in regulation, but Valley hit its late free throws to hold on for a 46-41 EWC boys’ basketball victory.

Curtis Miller scored 17 points, Stefan Staples 15 and Trevor Miller 12 for the Cavaliers (8-5). David Jensen topped the Lakers (6-6) with 14. After being held to two points in the second quarter, Rangeley outscored Valley 12-4 in the third to pull within five at 33-28.

Telstar 46, Jay 44

JAY – Ryan Kimball drained 16 points to help give Telstar the 46-44 edge over Jay in boys’ basketball action Tuesday evening.

Telstar jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter, and held the scoring advantage throughout the game. Andy Whitney added 10 points to the Rebel (5-8) win.

The Tigers (4-9) steadily chipped away at the Telstar lead, but couldn’t seem to catch up. Zane Armandi had a strong offensive game with 19 points, while Nick Bourassa chipped in with 10.

Wiscasset 75, Livermore Falls 53

WISCASSET – Jason Dennison, Matt McRae and Nick Hinkley combined for 73 points, and the three Wiscasset standouts combined for seven 3-pointers in a 75-53 MVC boys’ basketball win over Livermore Falls.

Dennison led all scorers with 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Redskins (8-4). McRae added 25 points and Hinkley 21. Zach Keene topped the Andies (7-6) with 21 points. Mark O’Shea chipped in 10 and Davis Mercier had nine.

Girls’ basketball

Rangeley 60, Valley 29

RANGELEY – Angela White led all players with 12 points to lead Rangeley to a 60-29 win over Valley in a girls’ hoops matchup Tuesday evening.

Krista Jamison added 11 points, while Hayley White chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds for the Lakers (7-3). Lauren White came off the bench to contribute nine points. Candy Ebneter downed 11 points for Valley (2-11). Katelynn Atwood and Jessica Brown scored nine and eight points, respectively.

St. Dom’s 63, NYA 51

AUBURN – Abby Gilbert popped in 23 points to lead St. Dom’s to a 63-51 victory over North Yarmouth Academy in a WMC girls’ matchup Tuesday.

Kelsey Murphy contributed for the Saints (6-7) with 10 points and six rebounds, while Katie Landry tallied nine points. Kate Merrill paced the Hawks (2-11) with 17 points, while Erin Lachance added eight. St. Dom’s held a 33-25 advantage at the half.

Mt. Ararat 49, Leavitt 34

TOPSHAM – Sara Morris netted 12 points Tuesday to propel Mt. Ararat to a 49-34 KVAC victory over Leavitt.

Jess Stahl chipped in for the Eagles (4-9) with eight points, while Bri Young added seven.

The Hornets (3-9) were paced by Kelsey Baril and Morgen Bernier with eight points apiece. Mt. Ararat jumped out to a 24-9 advantage in the first half and never trailed.
