LEWISTON – SeniorsPlus, the local area agency on aging, has available volunteer drivers for its “Getting Around Town” program. The agency is looking for consumers who are interested in the transportation program.

The program assists elderly and disabled with transportation, grocery delivery, errands, seasonal yard work and minor home repair services. Many seniors in the area do not have the support in place to remain independent. SeniorsPlus’ mission is to enrich the lives of seniors by offering programs to help them remain independent and in their own homes.

There is a small fee for grocery and transportation services. Dates and times these services are available will be arranged in advance. Those who live in Androscoggin, Franklin or Oxford counties and are interested in receiving the services should contact SeniorsPlus at 795-4010 or 1-800-427-1841 and ask for Linda, ext. 135.

SeniorsPlus is always looking for volunteers to assist with the programs. Mileage is reimbursed. Call for more information.
