Worship leader

PARIS – Donna Inglehart will be the worship leader at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., Paris, at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. Inglehart is chairwoman of the English Department at Hebron Academy and is a published author.

Her sermon topic will be “Something of Value: Writing Our Own Stories.” The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. The Sunday school will be led by Renee Wales. Child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.

Church supper

PARIS – A baked ham supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church, 39 Main St. The menu will include baked ham with vegetables, scalloped potatoes and chocolate cake and ice cream. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12. There is parking behind the library and town office.

Free workshop

Winter lecture

PARIS – A Wednesday, Feb. 7, winter lecture, “Winter Fruit Tree Pruning at the McLaughlin Garden,” will be held at 4 p.m. at the McLaughlin Garden.

The free lecture, given by Scott Miller, the Apple Doc, will feature a slide show presentation and a talk on proper winter fruit tree pruning.

Snow date is Feb. 14. All lectures in the winter series will take place in the newly restored front parlor of the historic house at the McLaughlin Garden.

Preregistration is not required. However, due to limited seating, people are asked to call 743-8820 in advance.
