Rainbow staff dresses down to lighten up others

LEWISTON – Rainbow Federal Credit Union’s President and CEO Philippe Moreau has announced that the employees of Rainbow Federal Credit Union will commit the funds they raised from dressing down on Fridays to help Adopt-A-Family over the 2007 holidays.

It has become a tradition at Rainbow Federal Credit Union. Every Friday is dress-down day, but the employees pay to dress down. Throughout the year that money is saved, and at the end of the year an area family is identified through a community agency as a family in need of assistance.

“This past Christmas we raised close to $1,800. We were told that the family consisted of a mom and a dad and four children; two boys and two girls,” said Moreau. “We bought outerwear, shoes, boots, slippers, pjs, pants, socks, shirts, toys and we made stockings for the children stuffed full of goodies. We bought board games the whole family can play. Books, movies a VCR/DVD combo for a family gift. The staff also pitched in and put together a food basket,” Moreau added.

Rainbow has five branch offices in Lewiston, Auburn, Mechanic Falls and South Paris and serves all of Androscoggin and Oxford counties.
