LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club has grown by another new member. Induction ceremonies were held on Jan. 18 to welcome Jim Baumer into the club.

Baumer is the business assistance coordinator for the Central/Western Maine Workforce Investment Board, located at the Career Center, Mollison Way.

He is also a member of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and serves as president of the Twilight Baseball League in Portland. Baumer lives with his wife, Mary, and son, Mark, in Durham.

Baumer was sponsored into the Rotary Club by long-time Rotarian Sylvia Plourde.

The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club is a service club dedicated to raising funds in order to benefit the community in a variety of ways. Annually the club distributes six $1,000 scholarships to local students pursuing higher education and awards grants in varying amounts to nonprofit organizations.
