Rainbow donates $5,000 to community agencies

LEWISTON – Rainbow Federal Credit Union’s President and CEO Philippe Moreau has announced the credit union’s year-long fundraising efforts had paid off and he distributed checks totaling $5,000 to area nonprofit organizations.

Moreau said the Social Responsibility Committee, on behalf of Rainbow Federal Credit Union, chose the following organizations to partner with in 2006: Hope Haven Building Campaign, Public Theatre, Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, Advocates for Children, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics and the Trinity Catholic School.

“Once we identified who we would partner with, we then set about to raise the funds throughout the year. We sold car candles, American Flag lapel pins, flashlights and holiday stocking stuffers. It was our members, however, who really made this possible through their generosity in purchasing the various items we made available,” said Moreau.

Rainbow has branch offices located in Lewiston, Auburn, Mechanic Falls and South Paris; approximately 23,000 members; more than $120 million in assets; and serves all of Androscoggin and Oxford counties.
