DIXFIELD – Friday’s boys’ basketball showdown between rivals Mountain Valley and Dirigo high schools, scheduled for cozy Defoe Gymnasium, is already sold out, according to Dirigo’s athletic director.

The game features two of the top teams in the Mountain Valley Conference – the Mountain Valley Falcons (12-2), ranked No. 3 in Western Class B, against the Dirigo Cougars (13-1), No. 2 in Western Class C.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. for ticket holders only. MVC passes will not be accepted.

Mountain Valley fans without tickets will have two opportunities to attend the game. According to athletic director John Bernard, the school will have two “free raffles” to give away tickets to Friday’s boys basketball game at Dirigo. One raffle will be for for students, the other for SAD 43 adults.

Those wishing to enter the raffle must come to the high school office and sign up. The drawing will be held on Thursday, and each winner will receive two tickets.
