PORTLAND – The Maine Sports Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for 2007.

The 32nd induction ceremony wiil be held June 10 at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland.

Among the inductees for this year are Bryce Beattie, Betty Davis, David Fernald, Eugene Hunter, Martin Joyce, Mike Landry, Arthur Smith and James Soule. Davis and Landry will be inducted posthumously.

Beattie was a basketball coach who won more than 400 games with Blue Hill, Freeport and Windham. Davis was a successful horse trainer and won numerous championships at horse shows around the country. Fernald was a noted football player at MCI and Bowdoin. Hunter was a well-known basketball player and coach. Joyce was an outstanding powerlifter. Landry was a successful football coach at Biddeford, Portland and Westbrook. Smith was a three-sport athlete at Portland and was a successful college football player. Soule had a record-breaking football career at Bowdoin.
