Could it be déj vu all over again? A president is determined to continue prosecuting a costly, failed, unpopular war, one that can be stopped only by termination of funding or impeachment.

Is the following scenario possible? Congress rejects the proposed $100 billion supplemental allocation for the war in Iraq; the will of Congress is frustrated by presidential veto or recourse to other means of funding the war’s continuation; Congress moves to impeach; the president and vice president resign, are pardoned of all charges, and the republic rescued by President Nancy Pelosi.

Will this nation ever learn? War doesn’t work anymore.

If, in fact, it ever did.
