AURORA, Ill. – Pamela Lynn Plachetka and Eric Stephen Penney exchanged vows at 2 p.m. on July 7 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Aurora, Ill. The Rev. David Engbarth officiated at the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, Richard Plachetka, the bride wore a strapless, white, floor-length gown adorned with beads and chapel length train and she carried a bouquet of pale pink roses.

Kristin Plachetka, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Nicole Vickers, Kelly Kramer and Shawna Strausberger, friends.

Michael Plachetka, brother of the bride, performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Tad Vickers and Nate Strausberger, friends.

A light lunch was served to the guests after the ceremony at the home of friends. A 6 p.m. reception dinner was served at the Gaslite Manor in Aurora, Ill.

Mrs. Penney is the daughter of Richard and Beth Plachetka of Yorkville, Ill. Mr. Penney is the son of Yvette Leblanc of Dixfield and the late Stephen Penney of South Paris.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Yorkville High School, and is a second-grade teacher at Fearn Elementary School in North Aurora, Ill. She received her bachelor’s degree from Aurora University and her master’s degree from North Illinois University.

The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Oxford Hills High School in South Paris and attended Central Maine Community College. He is D.H.S. coordinator at R.R. Donnelly in St. Charles, Ill.

The couple is residing at their town house in Yorkville. Ill. Guests attended from Drewsville, N.H., Westbrook, Gray, Standish, Canton and Dixfield.
