The Phillip W. Sugg Middle School’s Girls Basketball team has improved greatly since tryout. As a team, we are aggressive, but at the same time, we’re good team players. We won the Al Fuller Sportsmanship award, and we take pride in that achievement.

The varsity team has lost all three of the games that have been played so far this season. The team is working on some new plays and hopes to get the first win some time this week.

Some of the team’s new Varsity players are Tara Metzger, Kelsey Linnell, and Nichole Michaud. Tara is a great help on defense because she’s so fast; Kelsey is a good post player because she’s so tall; and Nichole is great at remembering plays and staying positive when the team is not doing so great.

The J.V. team has a lot of great players, and they’ve already won their first game against Hall-Dale. As the season continues, we are hoping their good record holds.

By the time this article goes to print, the Varsity and J. V. teams will have had other games under their belts, and hopefully, they’ll be wins. Hopefully, you all will be there too, cheering us on!

All members of the teams have been working really hard and hopefully can win a few more games. This writer knows for a fact, that if one sets their mind on something, one can accomplish anything!
