Valentine dance

PARIS – The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold its Valentine sweetheart dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, Pine Street, South Paris.

Chris Pinkham will call main stream and plus levels for the square dancing and Scott Williams will cue the round dancing.

Refreshments will be served at intermission. Nondancers are welcome to watch at no charge.

Story hour

WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will offer a story hour/play group from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 13.

Young children will have a chance to get together to play, learn and have fun. Activities will include arts and crafts, games and story time. Children ages 1 through 7 are welcome, and parents are required to stay with their children for the program. For more information, call 514-7636.

Public supper

NORWAY – The Norway Fireman’s Relief Association will hold a roast pork supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Norway Fire Station. The menu will consist of roast pork, salads, vegetables, rolls, beverages and dessert. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children under age 12 and free for children under 6.

Sunday leader

PARIS – Marilyn Hammond will be the worship leader at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, on Sunday, Feb. 11. Her sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be “To Bless the World.” The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. The Sunday school will be led by Renee Wales. Child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Potluck supper

WATERFORD – The Wilkins Community House will hold a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. All are welcome. Beverages and breads are provided.

The hosts this month will be Charlotte and John Huffman. After the supper Judy and John Thompson will present a program about their recent trip to the Balkans.

The Community House is located on Plummer Hill Road behind the village green next door to the church. The suppers are held each month October through May on the third Thursday.

Gorham program

GORHAM, N.H. – The Gorham Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, to discuss the 100th anniversary of the former Grand Trunk Railroad Station this year. Location of the meeting will be announced later.

The Centennial Celebration will be held on Aug. 11. The society has booked the Strawberry Farm Band, a bluegrass band. Local folks with varied talents are asked to participate.
