JAY – Jay ended Dirigo’s hopes for a perfect regular season with a 50-34 victory over the Cougars in the MVC regular-season finale Wednesday.

Jay (12-6) outscored Dirigo (17-1) 12-4 in the first quarter and had a 24-11 lead by halftime.

Kaylie DeMillo led the Tigers with 24 points, five assists and four steals. Liz LeBlanc chipped in 12 points and six rebounds. Dirigo got seven from Katie Hutchinson and six each from Megan Russell and Katherine Gagne.

Mt. Abram 52, Mtn. Valley 22

SALEM – Mt. Abram used a 20-4 second quarter to break open the lead in a 52-22 victory over Mountain Valley.

Kenni Norton lead the Roadrunners (12-6) with 19 points, four assists and four steals. Logahn Walker added 14 points and eight assists, while Janessa Thomas had 14 rebounds.

The Falcons (7-11) got six from Vanessa Cayer.

Hebron 31, Kents Hill 22

KENTS HILL – Hebron used a 20-9 run in the second half to defeat Kents Hill 31-22 on Wednesday.

Emily Powers led Hebron (8-6) with nine points, while Sara Powers and Laurisa Barthen chipped in with six points each.

Kents Hill (5-10) was paced by Emelda Ogweta with a game-high 11 points, while Lina Hoelker added nine.

Lisbon 47, Telstar 45

LISBON – Emily Moore drained 18 points Wednesday to help lift Lisbon past Telstar 47-45.

Christy McAuliffe and Kelly Bourgoin chipped in for the Greyhounds (9-9) with nine points apiece.

The Rebels (10-8) were paced by Bailey Davis, who poured in a game-high 21 points. Megan Smith chipped in with nine points, while Josie Reiss added eight. Lisbon held a 22-18 advantage at the break and hung on for the narrow victory.

Hall-Dale 52, Winthrop 46

WINTHROP – Hall-Dale overcame a 12-5 deficit in the opening quarter to beat Winthrop 52-46.

Hall-Dale (9-9) doubled up the Ramblers (8-10) 14-7 in the second quarter and outscored them 13-9 and 20-18 respectively in the second half.

Katie Frett led the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Britta Olsen added 18. Winthrop got 17 from Katie Pushard and 12 from Lindsey Gordon.

Georges Valley 41, Wiscasset 35

THOMASTON – Ashley Geel popped in 18 points and hauled down 18 rebounds to lead Georges Valley to a 41-35 MVC season-ending victory over Wiscasset.

Sam Buchanan chipped in for the Buccaneers (8-10) with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Redskins (2-16) were paced by Sarah Pierce with a 15 points, while Marissa Hammond added six. Georges Valley held a 24-18 advantage at the break.

Livermore Falls 56, Carrabec 36

NORTH ANSON – Marjorie DeBrosky scored 13 points Wednesday to pace Livermore Falls to a 56-36 victory over Carrabec.

The Andies (10-8) received 12 points from Caryn Howell, while Rachel Ventrella chipped in with 11.

Livermore used a 17-9 run in the third quarter to put the contest out of reach.

Lake Region 69, Poland 57

NAPLES -Lake Region burst out to a 21-8 lead in the opening quarter to beat Poland 69-57.

Todd Schigo led the Lakers with 26 points while Phillip Leighton and Chris Shane each had 15.

Poland (6-11) got 20 from Joe Douglass and 15 from T. J. England.

Gould 50, Seacoast Christian 27

BETHEL – T.L. Tutor popped in 14 points to lead undefeated Gould to a 50-27 rout over Seacoast-Christian in boy’s basketball action Wednesday.

Tyler Bruens chipped in for Gould (14-0) with nine points to help the Huskies stay perfect.

Jared Stinglen paced Seacoast Christian with 14 points.

Hockey

Hebron 9, NYA 2

YARMOUTH – Cameron Gosney had two goals and one assist while Carmine Zegarelli had a pair of goals in a 9-2 Hebron win over North Yarmouth Academy.

Hebron (20-7) outshot NYA 55-11. Hebron goaltender Keith MacDonald had just nine saves.

Roman Gosney, Sasha Romanenko and Eric Rodriguez each had a goal and an assist while David Woods had three assists for the Lumberjacks.

Lewiston 6, Lawrence 1

WINSLOW – John Roy recorded a hat trick Wednesday to lead Lewiston to a 6-1 rout over Lawrence in a late-season hockey matchup.

Justin Nadeau, Ian Doucette and Mike Sarasin also tallied for the Blue Devils (7-8-1) to complete the scoring. Alex Lafreniere made 13 saves in net to record the victory.

The Bulldogs (7-9) received a goal from James Brink late in the first period. Dylan Bellefleur and Chris Caron combined for 13 saves in net.
