NEWRY – The wedding of Amanda Canedy and Randall Salso Jr. was held at 5 p.m. on Aug. 19 on the Artists Covered Bridge in Newry. Pastor Glenn Carver officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Salso is the daughter of Paul and Louise Canedy of Sabattus. Mr. Salso is the son of Randall Salso Sr. and Marie Salso of Pine Beach, N.J.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress designed and created by her mother and maternal grandmother, Muguette Bourget. It was made of ivory Casa satin with mantilla veil and a detachable train, both fashioned from imported English netting. The hemline was trimmed with hand-stitched appliqués. She carried a bouquet of peach, yellow and ivory roses.

A best friend since early childhood, Danielle Read, attended as matron of honor. Gregory Salso, brother of the bridegroom, and Wade Fleming, friend of the bridegroom, served as best men. Azariah Lestage, niece of the bride, was flower girl and Gabriel Duncan, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

Readings were shared by Kim Duncan, sister of the bride, and Melissa Salso, sister of the bridegroom. Nick Canedy, brother of the bride, was trumpeter for the processional and recessional.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Jordan Grand Hotel at Sunday River. The couple later honeymooned at Mayan Riviera, Mexico. They are currently residing in Gorham.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Oak Hill High School in Wales. She studied at the Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in Boston, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 2004. She is currently employed at Morgan Dental Care in Gorham.

The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of St. John Vianney High School in New Jersey and received an associate degree in liberal studies. He is currently employed at KAI Industrial Design in Falmouth.
