Dear Sun Spots: I recently started making quality fishing lures as a hobby, and I would like to show them at craft fairs.

I’ve tried to find information on the Internet but wasn’t successful.

Could you or your readers tell me where to get a list of craft fairs or who to get in touch with? Thank you.

My name is George Lachance and my phone number is 782-3951. If busy, please try 754-5201. Please leave message. – George Lachance, Lewiston.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, you might consider keeping an eye on calendar events in several of your local papers.

In the meantime, contact Lois Taylor of New England Craft Fairs, P.O. Box 67, Greene, ME 04236. Taylor is also available at either of the following numbers, 946-7079 and 352-465-2671. You can also reach her via e-mail at LTpromo@aol.com or info@newenglandcraftfairs.com.

Taylor’s Web site also provides links to craft fairs being held in other states and would be well worth a browse at www.newenglandcraftfairs.com.

Dear Sun Spots: I would like to thank all of those people who made afghans or parts of afghans. We ended up donating 25. Great work by everyone.

I now have another question that I hope readers might be able to assist me with. I would also like to know if someone watched Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteele Quilt on Saturdays, Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, at 10 a.m.

I am looking for the letters I missed on these days. I may be reached at 778-2237. Thanks. – Becky in Temple.

Dear Sun Spots: Perhaps you can help me with this. I received a holiday gift subscription for Netflix last December, and it was inadvertently deleted from my e-mail.

I’ve tried several times to reach their 800 number but I’m put on hold forever.

They are supposed to have a new office in Portland but information has no number listed. How can I reach a real person and find out how I can redeem this gift? Many thanks. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots tried directory assistance both for Portland and toll free but did not have any success in locating a contact number. She also located the following Web site (http://jobs.netflix.com/DetailFlix.asp?) but has been blocked from it.

Perhaps you’ll have more success in locating the answer you need by accessing it yourself or continuing to hold until someone answers their toll free number.

Dear Sun Spots: In the wake of all our recent tragedies, one support group was not mentioned: The Compassionate Friends, Lewiston Chapter.

We have been in existence for six years and meet in the ACR room, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center’s d’Youville Pavillion on Campus Avenue.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Our next meeting will be held on Feb. 14.

Our mission is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.

We are a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees.

The secret to our success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal.

The vision of The Compassionate Friends is that everyone who needs us will find us and everyone who finds us will be helped.

Please, if you have suffered such a loss, give us a call and attend one of our meetings. We are here to help.

For further information, please call Belinda Kleeberger at 336-2781.

Thank you Sun Spots for the great job you do, helping your neighbors. – Kathy Peters, Chapter Leader, Lewiston.
