KENTS HILL – Tom Pietroski notched his first hat trick during the weekend as the Maranacook Area Youth Hockey Association Pee Wees split a pair of games.

Saturday at Bowdoin College, Maranacook suffered a tough 2-1 loss to MidCoast. Henry Nichols and Oliver Lowe scored for the winners. Lowe also received an assist. Ian Palmer tallied the lone Maranacook goal, assisted by Tony McIver. Eric Liddy was the winning goalie. River Mullan donned the pads for the visitors.

Pietroski and Palmer both scored a hat trick in a 10-0 victory over the Western Maine Flyers Sunday at Kents Hill. Also lighting the lamp were Sam Bryant, Kilton Webb, McIver and Alex Ingram. Drawing assists were Bryant (2), Webb, Ingram, Zach Bessette and McIver. Mullan goaled the shutout, his fourth of the season. Tyler Plant was in net for the Flyers, a team made up of players from Farmington, Jay, Wilton, Dixfield and Rumford.

Maranacook is now 14-10-2 on the season.
