CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Skiers from Carrabassett Valley Academy earned high marks at the recent Kagan Cup held at Sugarloaf’s Skidder Trail.
The event, named in memory of long-time Sugarloafer Irv Kagan, drew the best mogul skiers from across the eastern United States.
In Saturday’s single mogul competition, CVA Sophomore Alison DiGravio of Farmington, earned the fastest time for the women. In dual mogul competition, DiGravio advanced through the early rounds and into the final race. She battled Calli DeGrace of Waterville Valley on the final run, with DeGrace just nipping DiGravio at the finish line.
After Saturday’s event, CVA Senior Samantha Boylan finished fifth for the women, and Junior Keegan Kilroy was 11th for the men.
Bates College student and former CVA competitor Nate Johnson won the men’s dual event on Sunday.
