The Dutch national anthem, “Het Wilhelmus” (“The William Song’), was composed around 1570, making it one of the world’s oldest national anthems. The first letter of each of its 15 verses spells “WILLEM VAN NASSOV,” the Dutch name of Prince William of Orange.
