LEWISTON – One-hour senior fitness classes will be offered by HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center starting on March 12.

The class will provide participants with a safe and effective workout that includes a warm-up, cardiovascular component, resistance training, plus flexibility exercises. The class will build core strength to help improve or maintain the activities of daily living.

Certified instructors will lead the exercise, provide individual attention and monitor progress. Interaction among participants is encouraged.

Classes will be held at two times, from 9:15 to 10:15 and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, March 12 to April 13, at the newly renovated Nutrition Center of Maine (formerly the Wallace Building), corner of Bates and Walnut streets. Cost is $30.
