Dear Sun Spots: In the past, Sun Spots has been a good friend to Classy Lady Boutique. Your column has allowed us to get the word out when specific items were needed, and the response from the public has always been generous.

We have settled nicely into our new location at 272 Main St. in Lewiston, (next to Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shop). However, we lost most of our winter inventory that was stored at the old location at 165 Lisbon St. which burned and was demolished. Therefore, we are looking for clothing to replenish what was lost.

For those women who are getting ready to do some spring closet cleaning, please remember Classy Lady. We would love to have your gently worn business clothing. We are especially looking for plus sizes, but are in need of all sizes. Also, shoes, handbags, scarves and accessories are welcomed.

For those who have their business experience to share, we are looking for mentors. This volunteer position is vital to our goal of helping women entering or re-entering the work force gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to pursue their desired career, job or special interest. All types of mentoring are needed – from resume writing, dressing for success and computer tips to networking, balancing work and family and effective business communication. If you have been in the workplace for any number of years, you have something to share. It is so rewarding to mentor a woman and see her blossom and realize her employment goals.

Applications are available online at www.classylady.net or visit our store at 272 Main St., Lewiston.

Thank you, Sun Spots, and to all of you who have helped us in the past and will do so in the future. – Lynn Berube, Poland.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for someone in the Lewiston, Auburn or Turner area who does calligraphy. I have a poem I would like done by a calligrapher. If you can please help, I would so appreciate it. Your column is great, and you have helped me before. In advance, many thanks. – K.B., Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: My grandmother and my mom gave me this big pink Raggedy Ann doll and a big Pooh bear. They are both in good condition. The doll means a lot to me, and I can’t see donating it to just anyone. So, I was wondering if you knew of a place that deals with sick little girls or little girls that might be less fortunate that I can donate it to. Thank you. – Christina in Lewiston.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, you might consider contacting the Maine Children’s Cancer Program in Scarborough to see if this is something they might be interested in. You may reach them via phone at 885-7565. Another option would be to check with your local hospital to see if this is something they would be willing to accept.

Dear Sun Spots: A reader requested information on mending holes in woolen sweaters and left her phone number. I hope that anyone who responds to her will also send this information into Sun Spots. I’m sure many readers would appreciate having this. I will watch for it. – Daily Reader, Auburn.
