SABATTUS – Challenger Paul Wayne Loesberg won the selectman’s seat held by Stephen J. Wood on Friday, when less than a quarter of the average number of voters turned out during a snowstorm.
Loesberg, who has held a seat on the board in the past, took 125 votes. Wood got 62.
Loesberg was sworn in as selectman Friday night after 180 residents voted. The town usually gets about 900 ballots, Town Clerk Suzanne Adams said.
Selectmen Mark Duquette kept his seat with 123 votes.
Mark Fournier, who ran unchallenged for a school board seat, received 160 votes during Friday’s election. Loretta M. Kinkley was supported in her solo run for Sabattus Sanitary Water District with 171 votes.
The annual town meeting will be held May 19.
