Air Force Airman Amanda L. Nadeau has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of Pamela Guest and granddaughter of Andrew Demers, both of New Gloucester. Nadeau is a 2004 graduate of Edward Little High School, Auburn.

Army Pvt. Douglas F. Lamarre has graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

The course is designed to train students in receipt, storage, issue, shipping and distribution of petroleum, oil and lubricant products used by the Army. Training included instruction in petroleum and water accounting, operating equipment associated with fuels and water distribution; and fueling and defueling operations and procedures on vehicles, aircraft and stationary equipment.

Lamarre is the son of Peter B. Lamarre of West Bath and Victoria F. Robertson of Brunswick. The private is a 1997 graduate of Mount Ararat High School, Topsham.

Army Pvt. Adam R. Petrie has arrived for duty at Miesau, Germany. Petrie, a medical supply specialist, is assigned to Alpha Co., 226th Medical Battalion, and has four years of military service.

He is the son of Richard A. and Sharon L. Petrie of Minot and is a 2006 graduate of Poland Regional High School.
