LEWISTON – With recent budget cuts at the YWCA, teachers found themselves in need of new art supplies for their child care programs, and Community Credit Union reached out to help.

“Just one look at those adorable faces is all it takes,” said Kerry Wood, vice president for Community Credit Union and YWCA board member. “We are proud to give back to the kids in our communities and help such a worthy cause.”

Community Credit Union recently donated art supplies, including construction paper, glue, feathers and markers.

“We’ve been stretching our imaginations beyond our abilities and we appreciate any and all donations that are provided for us,” said Anne Craigs, executive director for the YWCA. “In addition to needing more items like those that Community Credit Union donated, we are also seeking hand puppets, marker stands, musical instrument toys and magnifying glasses.”

Community Credit Union is a member-owned, full service financial institution and has been serving its members and the community for 62 years. It has branches at 144 Pine St. and at 40 Stanley St., Auburn. For more information, visit www.communitycreditunion.com.

The YWCA child care programs include day care, snacks, swim lessons, open swim times and opportunities for gross motor activities in the gym. All the child care programs are licensed by the state. For more information, call Anne Craigs at 795-4050, ext. 124.
