AUBURN – Catherine (“Caitlin”) Carson-Gabriel has been hired as communications coordinator at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.

Carson-Gabriel, who lives in Industry, is a graduate of Fordham University. She previously ran a fund development consulting business in New York, where she wrote grants for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She also served as director of development for the Clear View School in Westchester, N.Y., and as the director of annual giving for the Westchester Association for Retarded Citizens.

In Maine, her focus has been on community, and she has written grants, taught adult education and coordinated grant-funded programs.

In her new position with Central Maine Community College, Carson-Gabriel will assume primary responsibility for the campus newsletter, writing press releases and feature stories, and taking photographs.

She will also assist with event planning and provide support to CMCC Foundation efforts.
