LEWISTON – Although the weather hasn’t been ideal for outdoor activities, The Andy Valley Softball Umpires’ Association continues to map plans for the annual benefit tournament. That event is slated for June 8-10 on Lewiston and Auburn diamonds. Rain dates are June 15-17.

There will be 2 divisions for this ASA slow pitch tourney. One bracket will house Class C teams, and the other Class D clubs.

Entry fee is $190. Money orders can be made out to Andy Valley Umpires and sent to Tony Gowell, P.O. Box 520, Sabattus, Me. 04280 (telephone 375-6540), or Tim Lare, 225 Seventh St., Auburn, Me. 04210 (783-2987).

Proceeds from the benefit tourney will go for local scholarships.
