SOUTH PARIS – Senior Ben Goodall pitched a three-hitter as Oxford Hills coasted to a 5-1 victory over Brunswick in KVAC baseball action Monday.

Junior Justin Frechette had a two-run double in the fifth inning to put the Vikings (2-0) up 3-1 in the late going.

Senior Josh Clark gave up only four hits for the Dragons (1-1) before being lifted after five innings.

Dirigo 15, Hall-Dale 0

HALLOWELL – Sophomores Josh Palmer and Aaron Fenstermacher had two hits and three RBIs apiece as Dirigo blanked Hall-Dale 15-0 in MVC baseball action Monday.

The Cougars (1-0) jumped out to a 6-0 advantage after the first inning and pushed the envelope to 15 runs after just three frames.

The Bulldgos (1-1) were limited to one hit over five innings in the mercy-rule shortened contest.

Mt. Ararat 15, Mt. Blue 12

TOPSHAM – Scott Rogers went 4-for-5 to propel Mt. Ararat to a 15-11 victory over Mt. Blue in KVAC baseball action Monday.

The Eagles (1-1) were the beneficiary of four walks and a hit-batsman in the first inning when they scored nine runs. Bob VanNote roped a double in the second inning for an RBI as Mt. Ararat took an 11-6 lead.

Senir Mike Toothaker went 2-for-3 with a big single in the second inning, driving in a pair of runs to keep the Cougars (0-1) competitive. Mt. Blue was in striking distance after five, 11-9, but gave up four runs in the sixth frame.

Leavitt 15, Morse 5

BATH – Junior Evan Barker recorded a pair of hits and four RBIs to lead Leavitt to a 15-5 triumph over Morse in KVAC baseball action Monday.

The Hornets (1-0) scored seven runs in the second and fourth innings on a combination of walks, errors and well-timed hits. Junior Nick Letourneau contributed a pair of hits and three RBIs in the winning effort.

Senior Riley Walker had two of the Shipbuilder’s three hits with a pair of doubles.

Poland 5, Cape Elizabeth 2

CAPE ELIZABETH – Eric Picard and Jack MacVane each hit crucial two-run doubles to push Poland to a 5-2 vicotry over Cape Elizabeth in an early-season WMC showdown.

Picard smacked his two-run double with two outs in the fourth inning to give the Knights (2-0) a 3-1 lead.

MacVane came in and sealed the deal with his two-run hit in the sixth to set the game at 5-2.

Joe Douglass struck out eight batters en route to recording the win, while Jake Pelletier was credited with the save.

Pat Murphy took the loss for the Capers (0-1).

Lacrosse

Lewiston 8, Mt. Ararat 5

TOPSHAM – Jon Roy tallied four goals and two assists as unbeaten Lewiston topped Mt. Ararat 8-5 in lacrosse action Monday.

Tim Gilbert added three goals and two assists, while Ben Landry rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils (3-0). Zack Blauvelt and Nate Rivet were each credited with an assist. Jon Collette stopped six shots in goal.

The Mt. Ararat (0-2) was paced by Josh Libby with three goals, while Dale Morgan and Zack Drehoblel each added a goal apiece.
