CUMBERLAND – Sophomore Hanna Hill dazzled batters firing a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and belted a homer to lead Fryeburg Academy over Greely 2-0 in WMC softball action on Saturday.

Hill improved to 3-0 on the season, yet to render a run while striking out 41.

Dani Hill went 2 for 3 for the Raiders (3-0), adding a run scoring single in the sixth.

Poland 5, Freeport 2

POLAND – Tori Hricko’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie and she held Freeport to only two hits as Poland earned a 5-2 victory in a WMC softball match-up. After giving up a pair of unearned runs, Kaitlyn Moreau tied the score for the Knights (3-1) in the fifth with a run scoring double. Kathryn Hall added an RBI double in the sixth for Poland.

George’s Valley 14, Mtn. Valley 0

THOMSATON – Danielle Frye tossed five inning of no-hit ball and struck out 10 batters to lead George’s Valley to a 14-0 MVC softball win over Mountain Valley on Saturday.

Catcher Desiree Smith had a triple and a pair of singles to pace the Buccaneers’ (3-0) offense, Elaina Waite took the loss for the Falcons (0-3). Kelly Palmer came in to relieve Waite in the third inning.

Gray-New Gloucester 3, Yarmouth 2

GRAY – Ali Olmstead delivered the game-winning RBI with the bases loaded and two out in the seventh to send Gray-New Gloucester to a 3-2 win over Yarmouth in WMC softball Saturday.

Brittany Humphrey tied the game in the seventh for the Patriots (3-3) with an RBI single. Olivia Ryan had two doubles to lead the Patriots and Laura Getchell picked up the win with five strikeouts.

Sammie Gray and Abby Ridge had two hits apiece for Yarmouth (1-3).
