Moment of silence

This column is usually reserved for funny anecdotes. Today, we need to start by observing a moment of silence in remembrance of Cardinals’ pitcher Josh Hancock, who died in a car accident on Saturday night. These moments show how truly fragile life is, when someone seemingly untouchable is taken away.

Trading away a title?

For reasons that still escape this writer, the Seahawks traded their most consistent receiver, Darrell Jackson, to the rival 49ers on Sunday for a fourth-round draft pick. Let’s see, give up a guy who scored 10 TDs last year for a player making the switch from offense to defense. Niner fans have to be loving this.

Are we done yet?

The NFL Draft lasted so long I was able to watch the first 11 picks, get nine holes of golf in at a course 25 minutes away, and still make it back before the Colts made the final pick of the first round. You can only take so much of Chris Berman.
