They were Senior Gabe Rubinstein of North Yarmouth, 43rd in Halfpipe and 46th in Boardercross in the Junior Men’s Division; Freshman Kevin Keough of Cumberland, 17th in Giant Slalom; 22nd in Slalom; 19th in Alpine Combined; and 41st in Boardercross (14th fastest time trial in seeding) in the Youth Men’s Division; and Seventh-Grader Matt Braley of Bethel, 31st in Giant Slalom; 34th in Alpine Combined; and 43rd in Slalom in the Breaker Boys Division.

The Mainers were selected for the national competition based on their performances in the USASA Maine Mountain Series. They are among the best snowboard athletes in the country in their respective age group. A record 93 snowboarders and skiers represented Team Maine at the National Championships this year. As Hebron Coach Sean Keough put it, “As the director of the USASA Maine Mountain Series, I am proud of their accomplishments.”
