On March 26 and 27, seventh and eighth graders from Bruce M. Whittier Middle School completed job shadows to meet their interests. Students did not attend school on their shadow day, as they were out all day learning about their job interests.

This was a great experience for students because they might have been inspired to set goals in their areas of interest or maybe even to consider something new. This was also a great opportunity to make community connections and to learn more about how our classroom learning will help us in our careers.

Students visited places such as veterinarian offices, banks, hospitals, and Lewiston’s one and only Sun Journal! When students returned to school the following day they were also required to write a reflection on their job shadows.

Whittier students are grateful for the willing businesses and professionals that allowed students to enjoy a day in their shadows.
