PORTLAND – Andrew Dobies earned his first win at Hadlock Field, as the Sea Dogs claimed a 9-6 win over Bowie Wednesday. Portland has won 4 of 5 of its six-game homestand.

Chris Smith secured his first hold of the season, working three scoreless innings on one hit and three strikeouts. Mike James recorded his third save of the season with a scoreless ninth. Portland pitchers retired 18 of the final 20 batters after Bowie took a 6-3 lead in the fourth inning on Brian Bock’s two-run single.

The Sea Dogs were aided by seven walks and three hit batters. Portland scored the final six runs on three walks, a hit batter, a wild pitch, and a fielder’s choice. The Dogs scored the go-ahead tallies off Oscar Alvarez and Romero in the fifth inning. Cory Keylor went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jed Lowrie knocked in two runs and scored twice. Felix Romero suffered the loss for Bowie, allowing six runs and four hits in four and 2/3 innings pitched.
