The Lewiston Maineiacs are ahead 2-0 after two games. Again.

Pierre-Luc had the puck bounce off of him on a shot by Chad Denny with one minutes to play in the game to put Lewiston ahead to stay, 4-3.

Goal is good. 8.3 seconds to play in the third: Faceoff to Bernier’s left. Maineiacs lead, 4-3. Timeout called, Val-d’Or.

1:00 left to play in the third: Chad Denny fires the puck through a screen. The puck hits Faubert in front and deflects in. Goal will be reviewed. Lewiston leads temporarily, 4-3.

2:48 to play in the third: Cedric Archambault has taken a penalty for holding. Power play to the Maineiacs. Score tied at 3-3.

3:20 to play in the third: Penalty killed. Three great saves by Bernier and now the teams are battling hard in the center zone again. Score still tied, 3-3.

4:06 to play in the third: Penalty killed, and Jonathan Bernier has come up HUGE three times on three different Foreurs’ snipers. Score is still tied, 3-3.

6:25 to play in the third: David Perron has picked up a slashing call after the play. Seconds earlier, at the other end, Pierre-Luc Faubert hit the pipe with a wide open net after a weird hop off the back boards. The score is tied, 3-3.

8:55 to play in the third: Lewiston has again killed off the Val-d’Or power play. The Foreurs are 1-for-8 on the PP. The score is still tied, 3-3.

11:19 to play in the third: Lewiston again shorthanded on a controversial call for elbowing on Chad Denny. Score still tied, 3-3.

12:17 to play in the third: Lewiston and Val-d’Or continue to battle it out in the middle zone. Score still tied, 3-3.

14:20 to play in the third: Teams are back to 5-on-5. Play continues with the score tied at 3-3.

16:34 to play in the third: Marc-Andre Cliche nullifies the PP with a penalty of his own. 4-on-4. Score is still tied, 3-3.

16:56 to play in the third: Felix Schutz takes a penalty, giving the Maineiacs their first power play since the first period.

18:13 to play in the third: Lewiston has killed off the Foreurs’ power play. Faceoff to Bernier’s right. Score is still tied, 3-3.

19:22 to play in the third: Faceoff to Bernier’s left. Score tied, 3-3.

19:59 to play in the third: Puck has dropped for the third period. Score is tied, 3-3.

End of the second period: The Foreurs got a pair of quick, early goals to pull even, and seems to have wrested control of the game’s tempo away from Lewiston for the first time this series. Val-d’Or and Lewiston are knotted at three goals each after two periods.

1.5 seconds to play in the second: Bernier makes a huge glove save on a blast by Kristopher Letang. Score is tied, 3-3.

29 seconds to play in the second: Lewiston will finish the period shorthanded as Marc-Andre Cliche took a crosschecking penalty in front of Bernier.

1:25 to play in the second: Now the Foreurs also have had a goal called back, again because of a whistle blowing. No goal. Score still tied, 3-3.

1:31 to play in the second period: Bernier makes a great sliding stop at the tail end of the Foreurs’ power play. Teams are back to even strength. Score still tied, 3-3.

3:34 to play in the second: Courcelles with a roughing penalty from a scrum beside Duchesne. Val-d”or to the power play for the fifth time. Score is tied, 3-3.

6:25 to play in the second: Stefano Giliati gets a penalty here after getting tripped up in the corner to Duchesnes’ right. The call on Giliati is. Meanwhile, Giliati’s lip is bleeding after contact with Kristopher Letang’s stick. Letang will go to the box, as will Samuel Richard. Giliati gets two for slashing and two for roughing. Richard and Letang get two each. 5-on-5 hockey. The score is tied, 3-3.

7:40 to play in the second: Media timeout. Lewiston and Val d’Or are starting to fall back into another feeling-out point. The Foreurs are still playing better hockey, though. Score is tied, 3-3.

10:11 to play in the second: Chad Denny’s quick shot surprised Duchesne up high. But he made the save. Score is tied, 3-3.

11:02 to play in the second: Faceoff to Duchesnes’ left. Lewiston back on their heels a bit this period. Score is tied, 3-3.

11:27 to play in the second: Maineiacs have killed the penalty. Val d’Or is 1 for 4 on the power play. Tied, 3-3.

13:55 to play in the second: Giant scrum after Mathieu Roy runs into Bernier after Bernier made a save on him. Kristopher Letang and Brad Marchand will get penalties for the Foreurs. Simon Courcelles, Stefano Giliati and Chris Tutalo will sit for Lewiston. Giliati is the extra penalty. Officials say he tripped Roy into Bernier. Val d’Or goes to the power play. The score is tied, 3-3.

16:33 to play in the second: Jeremy Duchesne’s ears have to be ringing. Chad Denny just hit the pipe square behind the goaltender, and the pang could likely be heard in Minot. No goal, though. A pair of penalties after the play, and the teams will skate 4-on-4. The score is tied, 3-3.

18:27 to play in the third: Jerome Samson intercepted a Chad Denny dump in and races in on Bernier. His shot was played well by Denny, but tipped off of a backchecking defenseman’s stick and flutted past Bernier. Game is tied, 3-3.

19:40 to play in the second: Brad Marchand has his first goal of the series, and the Foreurs have drawn to within one again. Lewiston leads, 3-2.

19:59 to play in the second: Back under way. Lewiston leads, 3-1.

End of the first period: Lewiston and Val-d’Or have combined for four power play goals in the first period. The Maineiacs have scored three of those. Eric Castonguay, Pierre-Luc Faubert and Chad Denny have scored for Lewiston, while Felix Schutz scored the Foreurs’ first goal of the series.

19.7 seconds to play in the first (Lewiston, 3-1): Faceoff outside of Val d’Or’s offensive zone. the Foruers have pressured, but haven’t been able to get close.

2:56 to play in the first (Lewiston, 3-1): The first minor scrum of the night behind Duchesne after a near-goal by Lewiston. No penalties.

4:47 to play in the first: A puck tipped over the glass nearly catches team photographer in the head, but he’s OK. On the ice, the Maineiacs continue to frustrate the Foreurs. The Maineiacs’ fourth line sees its first shift.

6:53 to play in the first: Another solid stop by Duchesne on a David Perron tip attempt at the right post.

7:19 to play in the first: Courcelles nearly tips a Giliati offering past Duchesne. Good save by the Val-d’Or keeper.

8:34 to play in the first: The Maineiacs just endured the Foreurs’ best chance in two games, and Bernier, accompanied by a gaggle of defenders, managed to keep the puck out. The crowd erupted in approval.

10:03 to play in the first: Chad Denny’s change-up from the point eluded Jeremy Duchesne and the Maineiacs collected their third power play goal of the game. 3-1 Lewiston.

10:23 to play in the first: Faceoff in the Foreurs’ zone. :53 to go on the PP for the Maineiacs.

11:31 left to play in the first: Henrick Lavoie takes a penalty. Lewiston back to the power play.

13:19 to play in the first: The Maineiacs killed off one of the PPs, but not both of them. Brad Marchand fed Felix Schutz in front and Schutz tapped the puck past a helpless Jonathan Bernier to pull the Foreurs to within one.

14:20 to play in the first: Val-d’Or is going on a two-man advantage for the next :56, as Tom Michalik takes a tripping call.

17:06 to play in the third: Lewiston’s Pierre-Luc Faubert added another PP goal. Lewiston leads, 2-0.

17:45 left in the first: Lewiston is on the power play after an interference call to Mathieu Roy. On the ensuing 4-on-3 PP, Lewiston’s Eric Castonguay founbd the back of the net on a feed from Simon Courcelles.

19:04 to play in the first: Brad Marchand of Val-d’Or gets a call against him. 4-on-4 hockey.

19:28 to play in the first: Tom Michalik has taken the game’s first penalty, a roughing minor.

Game time. Starting lineups for the teams look similar to those of last night. Jeremy Duchesne gets the nod in the Val-d’Or net tonight.

On the blue line, Louis Etienne Leblanc and Sebastien Bisaillon will start, along with Henrick Lavoie, Simon Bolduc and Justin Saulnier up front.

Lewiston is going with Marc-Andre Daneau, Stefan Chaput and Eric Castonguay up front, Marc-Andre Crete and Tom Michalik on the blue line and, of course, with Jonathan Bernier between the pipes.

The rink is expected to be sold out again.
