LEWISTON – The 100 Pine Wellness and Recovery Center received a donation of a Whirlpool heavy duty dryer from Agren Appliance of Auburn. The dryer is one of many benefits the members have to use at the center.
The 100 Pine Street center is a program of Common Ties Mental Health Coalition. The center is run by its membership through an elected member council. Common Ties provides technical assistance and consultation to the membership through the council and through the provision of a center manager.
The center has been a gathering place and focus of self-advocacy and recovery for community members experiencing the challenges associated with mental illness for 20 years.
The center welcomes members every day of the year, and is a place to meet friends, to learn about community resources, to seek out assistance and support during trying times.
The wellness program has been helping membership learn about ways they can contribute to their own recovery and well being. People help each other and there are many opportunities to help design the network of member-oriented programs. For more information, call the center at 795-6719.
