The Portland Players will present “The Full Monty” beginning tonight and running through June 3. The play, based on the smash hit British film of the same title, revolves around a group of unemployed steelworkers who conjure up a plan to make some quick cash. After seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their “Girls Night Out,” they set out to do some stripping themselves. As they work through their anxieties, the guys find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. For mature audiences. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Portland Players Theater in South Portland. For tickets, call the box office at 799-7337.
