RUMFORD – Liz Leblanc hit an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh inning to rally Jay to a 3-1 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC softball action Monday.

Shelby Moore, who had limited Jay to one hit through six innings and struck out eight, loaded the bases on three walks before Leblanc followed with a one-out single. The Tigers (9-1) added an insurance run on an error.

Mountain Valley (5-5) took a 1-0 lead on Kim Clark’s RBI single in the first. Kelly Palmer chiupped in with a double for the Falcons.

Jay pitcher Alexi Smith fanned five.

Fryeburg 1, Falmouth 0

FRYEBURG – Dani Hill’s sacrifice fly in the sixth was more than enough for Hannah Hill, who pitched unbeaten Fryeburg to a 1-0 victory over Falmouth.

Heather Tripp got things started for Fryeburg (10-0) with a leadoff double. Cerise Humphrey sacrificed the runner to third to set up Dani Hill’s game-winning fly ball.

Hannah Hill scattered three hits and struck out 12, while Falmouth pitcher Eileen Brandes threw a five hitter and recorded 10 strikeouts.

Leavitt 2, Mt. Blue 1

TURNER – Brittaney Gurney lost her shutout bid in the seventh inning, but retired the final two batters with the tying and winning runs in scoring position to lead Leavitt to a 2-1 triumph over Mt. Blue.

Doubles by Cat Rothe and Heidi Swett gave Leavitt a 1-0 lead in the third. Swett scored the eventual winning run in the sixth after she doubled and scored on Caroline Bochtler’s single.

Ashley Goucher reached on an error in the seventh and later scored on April Mullen’s single. But with runners on second and third, Gurney retired the final two batters on a strikeout and groundout to short.

Gray-NG 2, Cape Elizabeth 0

CAPE ELIZABETH – Brittany Humphrey scored both runs, highlighted by a solo home run in the fourth inning, to lift Gray-New Gloucester to a 2-0 victory over Cape Elizabeth.

The Patriots (7-5) took a 1-0 lead in the first when Humphrey scored on a passed ball after reaching third base on a single by Olivia Ryan.

Wining pitcher Laura Getchell struck out five and limited the Capers (10-2) to four hits.

Georges Valley 26, Livermore Falls 2

LIVERMORE FALLS – Catcher Desiree Smith led smacked four hits, including a home run and a double, to lead seven Georges Valley players with multiple hits as the Buccaneers rolled over Livermore Falls, 26-2.

Lix Hall struck out 12 batters to earn her second win of the season, and Jessica Keting had three doubles for George’s Valley (8-1).

Kathrynn Lake had two of the Andies’ four hits on the afternoon. Lake and Hannah McDaniel combined for the pitching loss for Livermore Falls (1-8).

Oak Hill 11, Lincoln 0

NEWCASTLE – Angie Russell tossed a no-hitter and fanned eight as Oak Hill cruised to an 11-0 victory over Lincoln Academy in softball action Monday.

Cadie Rodrigue went 2-for-3 and plated four runs for the Raiders (5-6), while Becka Roberts and Deidra Dubuc went 2-for-4 and collected a pair of RBIs each. Roberts had a double and triple, while Dubuc doubled and singled.

Starting pitcher Anna Giberson took the loss for the Eagles (2-6).

Poland 13, Wells 0

WELLS – Senior shortstop Kathryn Hall lifted a three-run home run in the fourth inning to assist Poland to a 13-0 rout over Wells in WMC softball action Monday.

The Knights (5-6) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Senior first baseman Nicole Chinnock collected a pair of triples and three RBIs in the winning effort.

Left fielder Stephanie Lomasney was on base twice with a single and a walk for the Warriors (1-8).

St. Dom’s 7, Freeport 1

FREEPORT – Mary Lewis’ two-run triple in the first inning sent St. Dom’s on its way to a 7-1 WMC triumph over Freeport.

Lewis added three more singles for the Saints (4-3) to back the five-hit pitching of Jen Cullen. Olivia Doane took the loss for the Falcons (3-7).
