LEWISTON — Nick Blais ripped an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Lewiston to a 9-8 victory over Cony on Thursday.

Mike Fontaine led the Blue Devils (7-4) with two hits and two RBIs, while Alex Wong and Ryan Dube added two hits apiece.

The Rams (6-5) erupted for four runs in the seventh to tie the game before Blais came through in the clutch. Reliever Eddie West picked up the win after stepping in for Ryan Dube in the sixth. Cony was paced by Jason Burns, Tom Poulin and Tom Daniels. with two hits each.

Dirigo 16, Carrabec 0
DIXFIELD – Aaron Fenstermacher threw six innings of two-hit ball and drew adequate run support as Dirigo cruised to a 16-0 rout over Carrabec.

Jon Smith led the Cougars (7-4) with two hits and four RBIs, while Derek Daley and Eric Bolduc belted three hits each. Fenstermacher helped his own cause with two RBIs.

Winthrop 4, Telstar 1

BETHEL – Dave Ricker’s RBI triple sparked a three-run third inning for Winthrop as they rolled to a 4-1 victory over Telstar.

Rusty Schmelzer led the Ramblers (10-0) with three hits, while Kyle Plossay held the Rebels (6-5) to just four hits and notched the win.

Telstar was paced by Lou Thornton with a pair of hits, while Ryan Kimball belted a double. James Kimball was tagged with the loss.

Edward Little 7, Morse 0

BATH – Edward Little’s Cory LaRue smacked three doubles, paving the way as the Eddies posted a 7-0 win over Morse.

Adam Lutz had a single, double, and a triple for the Eddies (4-7), while Matt Meserve had three hits and four RBIs. Kevin Smith had two singles and had two RBIs, as well. Adam Redmun recorded the win on the mound, striking out six batters and giving up three hits in the shut-out victory.

Justin Thomas had two hits, while Carl Nygaard had one for the Shipbuilders (1-10).

Oxford Hills 10, Mt. Ararat 0

SOUTH PARIS – Ben Goodall went the distance hurling a no-hitter, fanning nine batters, and walking just one as Oxford Hills defeated Mt. Ararat in a 10-0.

Matt Verrier hit a two-run double in the fifth to implement the 10-run rule and end the contest early in favor of the Vikings (9-2). Ethan Sutton and Dillon Trundy each had two hits.

Anthony Farrell took the loss for Mt. Ararat (5-6).

Poland 7, Gray/New Gloucester 0

GRAY – Joe Douglass smacked a lead off homer in the first inning to set the pace as Poland beat Gray/New Gloucester 7-0.

Jack MacVane had an RBI double in the first for the Knights (10-1), while Jake Pelletier added an RBI double in the fourth. Tyler Merchant had three hits and two RBIs. Defensively, the Knights turned three double-plays in the contest, while Douglass pitched a solid game, with five strikeouts.

Losing pitcher Lucas Chase hit a double for the Patriots (5-8).

Mt. Blue 8, Leavitt 2

TURNER – Joe Gilbert and Mike Toothaker combined for six hits and two RBIs to propel Mt. Blue to a 8-2 victory over Leavitt.

Adam Gilbert added (5-6) two hits in a well-balanced attack. Justin Lowe picked up the mound win after four innings of work.

The Hornets (2-9) were paced by Evan Baker with three hits, while Nick Letourneau was tagged with the loss.

Lisbon 9, Madison 1

MADISON – Devan Knight had two hits and an RBI as Lisbon posted a 9-1 win over Madison.

Frank Angelico hit an RBI triple, while Kyle Neagle hit a double for the Greyhounds (8-2). Marcus Bubar recorded the win, giving up three hits and striking out four.

Mat Brown, Ezra Gourley, and Garrick Brown had the only hits for the Bulldogs (1-9).

Boys’ lacrosse

Oak Hill 9, Lincoln 6

NEWCASTLE – Oak Hill rallied with five goals in the final quarter to slip past Lincoln Academy 9-6.

Oak Hill trailed 6-4 entering the final period. Kevin Laplante, Tyler Pomerleau and Joey Gilbert scored three goals apiece for the Raiders (10-0). Nate Lavoie and Nick Brown added two assists each. Derek Joanniees scored five goals for Lincoln.
