Playoff performers: F James Neal – 13 G, 12 A, 54 PIM in 20 games); F Evan Brophey – Nine goals and 14 assists in 20 games; G Michal Neuvirth – Rookie netminder has 14 wins, a 2.45 GAA and a .932 save percentage in the playoffs.

In net: Neuvirth, technically a rookie, posted a 26-8-2-2 record this season with a 2.32 GAA and a .932 save percentage. Jeremy Smith was 23-6-0-1 this season, and recorded the fifth-longest shutout streak in franchise history in October.

Unsung heroes: G Neuvirth – stopped 38 of 40 shots in Game 6 to preserve his team’s OT victory; F Sean O’Connor set up the OHL final series-clinching goal, scored by Neal.

Just notes: Plymouth recorded a whopping 81 shots on goal against Sudbury in Game 5 of their OHL final series. The Whalers won in overtime, 4-3.

Memorial Cup History: Plymouth has once before qualified for the Memorial Cup, in 1995, as the Detroit Jr. Wings. There, the team made it to the semifinal against Brandon, where it won to advance to face the host Kamloops Blazers, losing 8-2 in the final.
