The Memorial Cup Tournament begins as a four-team round robin – three league champions and the host team.

All four teams will play three games each against the other participating teams.

The team with the best record following those three games will qualify for the championship game.

The teams with the next two best records will play in a semifinal game two days prior to the final.

If there is a tie for third place, the two teams in question will play a tie-breaker game, the winner of which will advance to the semifinal.

The winner of the championship game, this year held on Sunday, May 27, is awarded the Memorial Cup.
