FARMINGDALE – Telstars’ Candice Hall tossed a solid game, striking out 10 batters and giving up only three hits to record the 7-0 shutout win over Hall-Dale.

Abby Hutchins, Meagan Smith, and Hall each smacked a pair of singles for the undefeated Rebels (14-0).

Madison 5, Dirigo 1

DIXFIELD – Ashley Marandola smacked an RBI double in the top of the seventh inning, insuring Madison’s 5-1 win over Dirigo in an MVC softball matchup Thursday.

Marandola hurled seven innings on the mound for the Bulldogs (12-2), giving up eight hits and striking out four.

Katie Hutchinson pitched well in the defeat, giving up only four hits for the Cougars (6-7).

EL 4, Gardiner 1

GARDINER – Becca Witten hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to secure the 4-1 Edward Little win over Gardiner in softball.

Witten reached on an error in the sixth inning and was hit around by Jena Dubois for the first EL (3-12) run of the game. Dubois then scored on a passed ball to make it 2-1 in EL’s favor. Witten stepped in and recorded the two insurance runs in the seventh for the win.

Hannah Lawrence tallied the lone Gardiner (6-9), run bringing home Chelsea Striker in the sixth inning.

Georges Valley 18, Boothbay 1

THOMASTON – Freshman pitcher Arianna Wadsworth fired a no-hitter, hit a pair of singles and knocked in a run as Georges Valley clobbered Boothbay 18-1.

The Seahawks scored their lone run in the first on a couple of walks and a wild pitch. The Buccaneers (12-2) answered with four runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back.

Bethanny Snow led the way with two hits and five RBI. Ashley Geel added three singles while plating two, and Danielle Leavitt smashed a home run.

Bess Walsh took the loss for Boothbay (0-12).

St. Dom’s 17, NYA 5

AUBURN – Mary Lewis slammed a two-run homer in the seventh inning as St. Dom’s routed NYA 17-5 in a softball contest Thursday.

Kelsey Murphy had three hits, three runs, and three RBIs, while Jen Cullen had two hits, three runs, and two RBIs for the Saints (8-3). Alex Landry chipped in with an RBI triple.

For NYA, Kate Knight smacked a three-run homer in the sixth inning.

Allie Tocci had two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI in the losing cause.

Boys’ lacrosse

St. Dom’s 13, Fryeburg 2

AUBURN – Sheldon Roy netted three goals to set the pace as St. Dom’s defeated Fryeburg 13-2 in a WMC boys’ lax contest held Thursday.

Andrew Gwarjanski, Ben Adams, Connor Hughes, and Trevor Haesele each scored a pair of goals a piece, with Cam McKee and Aaron Manson rounding out the scoring effort for the Saints (3-6).

Fryeburg’s (2-7) two goals were scored by Justin Staires and Ryan Smith, both in the second quarter.
