The Maine Central is having two more dining cars built for use the coming summer on its routes through the state and will receive them from the builders in the near future. They are very similar to dining car No. 1200, now on the Boston and Waterville run; but while this car is equipped with gas and electricity for lighting purposes, the new ones will be equipped only with gas. One car will be run through this city and the other by way of Augusta.

In the last few weeks, three Lewiston postmen have been bitten and all had to be taken to the emergency room of a hospital.

The case of a substitute carrier on a Lewiston residential route illustrates a point: He had been warned of the vicious dog by the regular carrier, but took it lightly since he never had “trouble” with dogs. The next day, as he delivered mail to the house, the dog grabbed him by the ankle. The woman of the house came to the door encouragingly and said her dog would not harm him. “Well get him to let go of my ankle,” the injured postman pleaded.
