AUBURN – The third annual Emily Fletcher Memorial 5K Race is scheduled for Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at Edward Little High School.
Registration is available at Lamey Wellehan or online at www.emilyfletcher5k.com. Proceeds are earmarked for the Emily Fletcher Scholarship Fund and the Auburn Public Library Building Fund.
Volleyball planned
OLD ORCHARD-Parrot Head Club of Maine is hosting a Benefit Recreational Beach Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, July 21 on the beach at The Burnswick in Old Orchard Beach. Proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics Maine.
It’ll be co-ed teams consist of 4-persons (up to 4 alternates). A member of the opposite sex must be on the court at all times. Registration forms are available at www.phcofmaine.com. Advance registration notice is requested.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a captains’ meeting at 9:00.
Soccer teams advance
BRUNSWICK – By winning the recent US Youth Soccer Maine Championship, nine Brunswick area soccer teams have qualified to compete in the US Youth Soccer Region I (East Regional) Championships.
That event is set for June 28-July 3 at Bowdoin College, Falmouth Park and Falmouth High School
The qualifiers include: Boys: U-12, U-15, U-16, U-17, U-18. Girls: 8v8, U-12, U-17, U-18.
