BOSTON (AP) – The Boston Bruins signed right wing Brandon Bochenski to a one-year extension on Monday after he provided scoring punch in the second half of last season.
In 31 games with Boston after being obtained from the Chicago Blackhawks, he had 11 goals and 11 assists.
By signing for only one year, Bochenski has a chance to cash in if he has another good offensive season. “He was given a good opportunity here and in a one-year deal here he’s able to prove his worth,” Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said.
“I don’t mind challenging him like that and if he lights it up I’ll have to pay the piper, and that’s fine, too.
“He can score 30 (goals) and hammer me. I’d like him to score 30.”
