WATERVILLE – Justin Rouse of Eliot was elected governor of the recent 60th annual American Legion Boys State program held at Thomas College. Other key elections saw Greg Jensen of Falmouth become president of the Senate and Patrick Bolduc of Bangor took the honors of Speaker of the House.
American Legion Boys State is a unique summertime educational program for high school juniors that focuses on participation and personal experience in a model state, complete with governing bodies and elected public officials. It is designed to mirror the structure and operation of state government.
American Legion Boys State Director Paul Jacques of Waterville conducted the graduation ceremony on June 21 for 252 graduates at Thomas College in Waterville.
