LEWISTON – Tim Fox has announced all-star rosters for the South Lewiston Little League softball divisions, as follows:

Major Division (11-12): Coaches: Rick Osgood, Tim Fox. Players: Erica Brochu, Brittany Bell, Allisa Champagne, Tori Denis, Kelsey Dumond, Bethany Fox, Courtney Jacques, Michelle Malia, Kayla McAtee, Cleo Miller, Natalie Rousseau, Taylor Teixeira, Paige Young.

Minor Division (9-10): Coaches: Jim Mathon, Tim Field, Rick Hubbard, Al Galipeau. Players: Makayla Brown, Elizabeth Cormier, Makayla Field, Emma Galipeau, Erin Hubbard, Erica Lemieux, Courtney Marquis, Maegan Mathon, Sydney Moore, Maggie Phelan, Brianna Theriault.

Playtimers win

In recent South Lewiston Major Softball Division action, Play It Again Sports defeated Lewiston P.A.L. 7-2 as Sydney Nadeau gained the mound win. Enjoying fine games were Michelle Malia, Bethany Fox and Kelsey Dumond. Cleo Miller, Allison Osgood and Allisa Champagne were the big sticks for P.A.L. Pitcher Erica Brochu also had a big offensive night.

Auburn tops Elliot

AUBURN – Lewellyn Jensen came on in relief in the bottom of the sixth with one out and the bases loaded and struck out the next two batters to preserve a 5-4 victory for the Auburn Suburban Little League 9-10 All Stars over Lewiston’s Elliot in Round 1 of the District 5 playoffs.

Auburn starter Brian Crane hurled 4 1/3 innings of shutout ball. He helped his cause with a 3-3 performance, including a 3-run homer. Ian Mileikis added 2 hits for Auburn and scored 3 runs. Cam Nadeau made two clutch plays in the field to help in the victory.

Kyle Lemelin pitched a strong game for Elliot and also banged out 2 doubles. Matt Poulin also collected 2 hits.

Auburn next plays in Winslow Saturday against the winner of the game between Hall-Dale and Augusta.
